APD Waivers Currently Available:
Two Medicaid home and community
based services waivers currently available are: 1) the Developmental
Disability Home and Community Based Services (DD/HCBS) waiver and 2) the
Florida Supported Living (FSL) waiver. These waivers combine State and
Federal dollars that are monitored by the Agency for Health Care
Administration (AHCA). Services funded by both waivers are to be used only
after all other means of support have been explored. Waiver funds cannot
be used to provide services that are covered under Medicaid State Plan.
Offers for enrollment, as funding becomes available,
are based on how long the person has been waiting for services according
to the waiver eligibility date. This date is the date the individual was
placed on the wait list.
Family and Supported Living (FSL) waiver
The FSL waiver provides funding for home and
community-based supports and services to eligible persons living in their
own home or family home. This includes children and adults. FSL waiver
offers twelve services with dollar cap limits (see page 6, services with
an * ). The total annual budget may not exceed $14,792.00.
Developmental Disabilities Home and
Community Based Services waiver (DD/HCBS)
The DD/HCBS waiver provides funding for home and
community-based supports and services to eligible persons who live in
their own home, family home, or some residential facilities. This waiver
is not limited by a dollar cap and has an extensive menu of services (see
page 6).
Individuals who do qualify for services or do not need Medicaid waiver
services at the present time, may remain on the wait list. Individuals who
enroll on the FSL waiver may remain on the HCBS waiver wait list until an
opportunity to participate is available in the DD/HCBS waiver.
